From the series “Caught Between Space & Time

“On October 8th, 2018, the building that Rif Raf Giraffe and his wife live in and work out of partially collapsed after a massive rain storm. After initially being put up in various hotels for the first couple of weeks, they proceeded to hop around from place to place, wherever there was an open door for them - and thus began their nomadic journey. The paintings in this series were created in different places during the 2+ years of displacement from their home, and, more recently, during the time of being back home and resettling into their loft. This body of work reflects the intense chaos of that time period along with his personal concepts of space and time, which have continued to be strong themes throughout his career. The work also highlights and embraces the beauty and stillness of living in the present moment - the release of oneself to flow in harmony with the universe.” - Upper Level Gallery
